About Amy

My Story
It will probably come as a shock to my school teachers that I became an actor. I was quiet at school -happiest in art class with my headphones on, painting flowers and minding my own business. My drama grades don’t tell the full story either, thanks to a teacher who managed to lose all of our coursework.
A bold creative choice.
Outside of school, however, I absolutely thrived in my local amateur dramatics club. Comedy was my thing. Timing came naturally. Turns out I liked an audience - which makes sense when you grow up with a dad who spoke publicly as a preacher and a barn dance caller. Applause was basically a family currency.
I trained at Arts Educational Schools in Chiswick, graduating in 2012, and have since worked across television, theatre and commercials. Screen credits include Casualty and EastEnders, alongside campaigns for John Lewis, Febreze, IKEA, Paddy Power and EDF Energy - often with my dog Alfie, who is rapidly building a stronger CV than mine.
I’m a very proud dog mum. So proud, in fact, that I’ve written a book about it. DogMum is now also a one-woman show, proving that yes - I will happily talk about my dog on stage for an hour and call it art.
In 2019, a dental procedure went spectacularly wrong and temporarily paralysed my face. Losing your face as an actor is not ideal - but the irony wasn’t lost on me. It did, however, lead me to train as a Reiki Master and teacher, and I now live by the sea in the wonderfully artsy Ventnor on the Isle of Wight.
The good news? The face came back. The smile returned. And thankfully — so did the comedy.
